Pearl Harbor (2001) - 'December 7th' scene - Part 1 [1080p]

Показать описание
The attack scene lasts a staggering 37 minutes, and large parts of it are effectively scored with no music at all. But once the Japanese call off the third wave, the film changes gear as the Americans start to take stock of the damage. First comes the chaos (this clip), and then, inevitably, the despair (see Part 2). Hans Zimmer doesn't hold back.

Starring Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett, Kate Beckinsale, Jon Voight, Cuba Gooding Jr., Dan Aykroyd, Colm Feore, Tom Sizemore, Jennifer Garner, Michael Shannon, William Fichtner and Alec Baldwin. Written by Randall Wallace and directed by Michael Bay, who also produced together with Jerry Bruckheimer. Original score by Hans Zimmer.

Telling her to go outside and decide who can be saved. What a brutal but vitally necessary job.

The nurses of Pearl Harbor played a critical role in the care of the wounded after the Japanese attack by providing pain relief, stock treatment, wound care, surgical care, comfort for dying men, and other essential nursing duties. Collaboration and teamwork among the nurses, physicians, and volunteers were pivotal to the prompt and adequate care of the wounded.

I met one of the paramedics who was working in Oklahoma City the day of the bombing. They raced to the scene in their ambulance only to see a hundred bloody persons rushing towards their ambulance. It is a scene she still vividly has in her memory. It will never go away.

Jennifer Garner nailed the scene in the end breaking down completely. Small scene but nonetheless powerful.

What's very telling was that one interaction with the Asian doctor. Clearly, the soldiers were uncomfortable with him treating them, but the nurses stuck by the doctor to deliver the appropriate critical care needed, emphasizing the interdisciplinary team dynamic. That's what healthcare is about. We look beneath the skin and work together to provide the best care possible regardless of race or gender.

How is no one talking about John McClane from Die Hard being in the background at 2:19?

Scolding hot oil, lacerations, 3rd degree burns, gunshot wounds and a lot of times all they could do was watch them die because there was no saving them...

No one did. No one.

This is odd, but I find the nurses to be the real heros in this story.

The hospital scenes are based on Hickman Field hospital which was on base and turned into a emergency hospital as it was three blocks away from the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The lipstick scene did happen to an extent. A nurse was sent to the men and women’s locker rooms and pull out any and everything that can be used, dumping out the purses all nurses had a red lipstick and eyebrows pencils. All were used to mark the men and women coming into the hospital on the forehead.

Anyone who was a firefighter or medical or helped carry someone was a hero that day

That was so sad when the guy asked how bad he was and she drew an "F" on his forehead.
