If you watch the ending of the original video you can understand why the engineers and the producer may have wanted to rehearse this before they attempted to record a track. If you watch the very end at 25% speed and pause at 3:38 you can see, though a glass partition, a stand up bass player and a drummer all mic'd up with headphones on and at 3:39 you can see the heads of the orchestra players in a large studio in front of them with mics overhead. So basically they are recording all of the elements of the song at the same time. Granted they did have the advantage of recording multiple takes if they needed but when you think about it, the finished product is a live studio recording.

There is a video of the voice taken from her grandmother's cell phone from this actual session. This was overdubbed with the final recording from the album. What no one seems to marvel at is ANGELINA WAS GOING THROUGH AN ENORMOUS GROWTH SPURT. That means everything from facial structure to vocal chords were changing.
