We keep pushing this Mobility Training but why would anyone need this?! We’re here to help explain the importance of this thing called Functional Range Conditioning, or more easily, Mobility Training.

Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), is a movement practice that can benefit people of all ages and abilities by increasing joint mobility, flexibility, and body control. FRC works by systematically expanding the body’s range of motion, while simultaneously teaching the nervous system how to control the newly acquired ranges. The three main goals of FRC are Mobility Development, Joint Strength and Body Control. FRC has many benefits including reduced risk of injury, improved posture, and improved athletic performance.

Now what this all means is that if you want a good solid foundation for working out, and making it through your daily life with ease, you should be incorporating FRC into your daily routine. It’s never too early or late to start mobility training. If you’re young, this will be preventative and beneficial as you age. On the contrary if you’re older, this is a great way to get your body moving better, without pain.

We offer private mobility training at Optimal so you can get a personalized experience with our trainers. This appointment will include an assessment followed by an hour of training and you will go home with exercises to perform on your own. Once you’ve gotten to know where you’re at with your own mobility, check out our group mobility classes! Link in the bio for scheduling and more information!
