Biden signs US gun control bill into law

US President Joe Biden has signed into law a bill on gun control, one of the first major gun reforms introduced in three decades, following the mass shootings in New York and Texas in May.

US Congress approved the legislation with bipartisan support this week.

The new laws will introduce tougher background checks for those under the age of 21. Federal funding will be provided for school mental health and security programs, as well as incentives for states to implement 'red flag' laws.

Adding more laws and hoops to jump through for a law-abiding citizens who have not committed a crime nor want to commit a crime with a gun will not stop mass shootings or psychotic people from going out and hurting people. We’ve never heard any plans on how to disarm the violent people but we always hear about how the outlaws to people that already follow laws. This is just about as effective as gun free zones.

A few things.. 1) The news and demoncrat party needs to stop labeling all shootings as "mass shootings". 2) The news and the demoncrat party needs to stop referring to semi-automatic firearms as "assault weapons". 3) It's not the law abiding citizen that goes out shooting things up it's the criminals, and the criminals don't give a damn about laws. However, it's the law abiding that gets punished.
