"When can I take you home?" Such a forward question to ask a robot you just met

Finally someone who understands the purpose of the Optimus demo's. I'm annoyed elon didn't just mention "tonight they're being tele-operated", that would have reduced all the confusion we're seeing.

Nice coverage Chris!

4:47 “Two seats look really wide…….. Makes sense in America”😂 made me pause the video just so I could laugh and catch my breath

Thanks for reporting on and confirming if it was someone remotely controlling the Optimus behind the scenes. Still very impressive.

Not sure why so many Youtubers thought these were not teleoperated. In other videos as soon as I heard the voices I knew it was human assisted. Their responses didn't sound like AI at all.

That place looks familiar and that looks like fun. I'm working at Warner Bros tomorrow.

You'll look back on this day in 5 years when Optimuses are released in a final format. So cool, man!

Watching the Optimus being controlled remotely and especially the lean-in when he couldn't hear you made me think... They guy controlling it feels like he's there with you. These would be AMAZING tools for disabled people, who find it impossible to get out and about, to control, perhaps by Neuralink, and be able to pop down to the shops or just go and have a look around, for THEMSELVES, without needing a fully autonomous robot to do it for them. It might actually be more beneficial and fun to keep this functionality even when they are fully autonomous.

I would actually argue that the mechanical Part is the "easy" part for the Robot. The automation is the crazy hard part. AI Models will help, but it is alot of work. Still very impressive.

Exciting to see what the future holds for us. Easy to be disappointed that this is always around the corner. But let’s not forget we already are living future of five years ago. The improvement is incremental but progress is being made!

I appreciate the honesty with your channels instead of all hype. Thank you for covering that they're not fully AI and teleoperated

So glad you caught details like the front and rear cameras!

Imagine allowing a paraplegic or quadriplegic person to control one of these via neuralink...it would be like Avatar IRL. Amazing.

It was great seeing you there, Chris! Sorry you didn’t get to ride the new RoboTaxi. I didn’t get to either, but we did kinda bypass the line for a Model Y robo taxi ride. Super cool!

The biggest technological hurdle for humanoid robots is achieving precise control and coordination. This challenge, however, has been impressively addressed by these robots in the show, regardless of whether they are teleoperated. Look at its finger movements, truly impressive!

The robot with the cowboy hat and West World was the first thing that come to mind!
