Watch a collection of phenomenal wave rides by world bodyboarding champions Pierre-Louis Costes, Joana Schenker, Ayaka Suzuki, Amaury Lavernhe, and Claudia Ferrari.

Pierre-Louis Costes is one of the most popular and influential professional bodyboarders of the 21st century.

The French won his first world title, aged 21, going into the last event at El Frontón in contention with his idols Jeff Hubbard, Ryan Hardy, and Guilherme Tâmega.

Joana Schenker is the queen of European bodyboarding.

Schenker won four back-to-back European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) titles (2014-2017) and seven consecutive national titles (2014-2020).

Ayaka Suzuki was one of the first Japanese female bodyboarders to make it to the world stage.

Despite all the challenges Suzuki faced to compete at a world-class level, the long path to glory culminated with an unprecedented and historic world title in 2018.

Amaury Lavernhe is one of the most well-rounded professional bodyboarders in competitive history.

He won two world titles (2010 and 2014) and also runs the Amaury Academy around the world.

Claudia Ferrari was one of the first women to own and ride a bodyboard in Brazil.

She won the GOB World Tour in 1995, the Women's Pipeline Pro in 2007, and the USBA Tour in 2008.

The waves ridden in this compilation were shot in Hawaii, Mexico, Portugal, Texas, the Canary Islands, and several other locations.

There's also an extra wave pool section by drop-knee pioneer Jay Reale.

I am a 55-year-old bodyboarder I started when I was 12, I remember what made me want to sell my skateboard to buy a bodyboard... It was the ads for Morey Boogie on surfing magazine around the late '70s. The rider on those pictures? Jack "the ripper" Lindholm. He rode the biggest Pipeline monsters on a board that many of us today would consider totally inferior to today's high-tech equipment ( I'm riding a Snyper these days) In 1985 left Puerto Rico and I joined the US Coast Guard to become a Rescue Swimmer. Lucky for me I got stationed in Hawaii and once had the privilege to surf with Jack the Ripper at a break called Pyramid Rock at the marine base in Kaneohe, the waves were some of the heaviest I have ever surfed, but Jack destroyed every single monster that popped out of the depths...

They had their moments in different times of the evolution of bodyboarding.I started in mid seventies when they just had the kit and it had to be put together yourself.I went to high school with Jack lindholme in Honolulu, went to the beach many times in
"Sassafras" his van.He was the most humble person, he would drop knee the biggest and nastiest pipe had to offer
with style and grace equal to Jerry Lopez.Another fearless big wave charger of that time was Daniel
(Kaniala) Kaimi who was the only boogie boarder who reguarly show up when the Bay would break, he was also known for his 360 spinners. There is those who do them and then there are those who do them in the right place at the right time, with flow, that was Kaniala, then there was the Haole boys from Sandy Beach Pat Caldwell and Ben Severson. Also coming up a few years behind was Kainoa Magee and Fred Santos, then there was this Haole boy from Kona who showed up and the rest is history, Mike's the best of all time in my opinion because he came around at the right time and put boogieboarding on the map, and thats
when it took off and Mike had a big part in it.Thats why I consider him the greatest.I am proud to have known and been friends with every one of
them. Thanks for letting me share my manao from the 808, aloha.
P.s. "Old Guys Rule"

Ohhhh! That's the first time I've seen bodyboarding since it was all the craze in my high school years in the 90's and all my mates and I would go bodyboarding every weekend!

This is the first time I thought to search it on utube - and this is the very first video I got.

It. Was. *AWESOME!!* 🤟😆🤘

Since everybody is dropping ages, I'm 64. I remember some of the older names mentioned here. Used to see them at Sandy's and Makapu'u back in the 70's and 80's. But for me, Jack was the one that started it all.

Any old timers remember Primo and Royal from Sandy's? Two brothers that owned Sandy's back in the day. Primo would leave his "board" by the lifeguard stand and nobody would take it cause it was just an old piece of plywood. No paint, no varnish, no nothing. He could do things on that piece of wood that most bodyboarders and surfers couldn't do.

Watching him get the meanest barrels at Half Point and Pipe Littles was insane. Sandy's was never the same after the hurricane messed up the sandbar. Good old days.

Started bodyboarding Walls Waikiki over a decade ago and have been hooked ever since, It feels like flying. I used to be a slow chubby kid, so going fast was a totally new and exhilarating experience. Thats probably one of the reasons I love rollercoasters and cars so much...on top of having Adhd and the tism.
