England are the favourites to win UEFA Euro 2024, despite never having won the Euros before, and their defence being hit by an untimely injury crisis.

But how much attention should we even pay to the odds?

Well, from France at Euro '92, who went out in the group stage, to Spain at Euro 2012, who were crowned as champions, HITC Sevens takes a look at how the pre-tournament favourites have performed at every UEFA European Championship.

England being favourites just doesn’t sit right with me

Small Correction: Spain beat Italy 4-0 not 3-0 in 2012 final.

Video idea suggestion: Why has Real Madrid dominated the Champions league so much from 2014 onwards? Let's not forget that they had to wait over a decade for la décima, now they already have 15.

3:47 As a Dutchman I have to correct you there, the Netherlands absolutely was NOT a European powerhouse of football in 1957. In the period between the 2nd world war and 1974 we never qualified for a tournament even a single time. Only when Cruijff and his generation came onto the scene in the late 1960s started the Netherlands to become relevant in world football.

It's crazy how many countries were against what seemed like a reasonable idea to play football against each other lol

Big respect for not making sponsorship deals with those horrible betting companies, refreshing to see. Personally I have no problem with you having companies sponsor you though, especially if it allows you to make videos that usually wouldn't be financially worthwhile for you. Great work once again

I read that 2008 final was the last game for Spain where they had lower ball possession than the opposing side - up until yesterday.

I feel like England being favourites is only due to it being the most popular bet with English bookies is “England to win outright”

Bookies don’t just calculate their odds based on the chance of something happening, it’s also about how many people will win if the bet comes through, hence the low odds

England being labelled pre tournament favourites when we have won less Euro titles than Czechslovakia, Denmark and Greece 😂😂😂

28:49 Jude is Rice’s midfield partner. With Foden in the squad he should be the attacking midfield instead of Jude. They’re both great there but Jude’s also a great CM. I really like Mainoo as well

17:00 The fact that Euro 92 was Eric Cantona's only international tournament is a travesty. I think I've requested a couple of times a video on the best XI of players never to have played at a World Cup, and Cantona for me would be a shoo-in.

11:03 Not Czechs, but Czechoslovaks would be more precise (8/11 players on the field were Slovak).

I think for the 2016 tournament, what people fail to realize is that Portugal already knew going into their final game that a draw was not only enough, but actually a favorable results, which is why when Portugal had a tied scoreline at that game, they put their foot off the gas
