Nottingham Forest 1-0 Tottenham Forest

Spurs travelled to the City Ground to face Nuno Espirito Santo’s Forest side in the Premier League on Boxing Day.

However, it was Morgan Gibbs-White who assisted the Anthony Elanga goal for Nottingham Forest as Chris Wood and Callum Hudson-Odoi outperformed Spurs.

Djed Spence was sent off as Djed Spence red card after a foul in the game.

Tottenham Hotspur have not been quite as active in the transfer window this summer - only signing Archie Gray from Leeds United and Yang Min-hyuk from Gangwon FC, Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth and Wilson Odobert from Burnley - but over the last few years under Ange Postecoglou Spurs have been building a top youth side.

With the help of Daniel Levy, Scott Munn, Johan Lange and Fabio Paratici Spurs have lowered the average age of the squad to 25.

The Premier League is heating up with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Bournemouth, Burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Luton Town, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wolves aka Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ipswich Town, Southampton and Leicester City.

The former Celtic, Yokohama F. Marinos, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory coach Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham squad include Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Emerson Royal, Yves Bissouma, Pierre-Emile Hojberg, Dejan Kulusevski, Bryan Gil, Brennan Johnson, Son Heung-Min (손흥민) Richarlison, Pape Matar Sarr, Jamie Donley, Alfie Dorrington, Ashley Phillips, Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur, Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence, Ryan Sessegnon, Micky van de Ven, Timo Werner, Radu Dragusin, James Maddison and Dane Scarlett, Manor Solomon, Alejo Veliz, Giovani Lo Celso, Ben Davies, Fraser Forster, Brandon Austin, Alfie Whiteman, Ivan Perisic, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Tanguy Ndombele, Joe Rodon, Lucas Bergvall, Mikey Moore, Archie Gray, Yang Min-hyuk, Wilson Odobert, Dominic Solanke and Luka Vuskovic.

How can you sack him? You've got so many injuries. Who will you replace him with? He needs couple players in the window and you'll be right.

Can someone explain the "hasn't been backed" commentary? I keep hearing this. He's been given 350 million. Mourinho got Doherty, Hojbjerg, Bergwijn, Rodon, Lo Celso (who was already at the club) - now that was a manager who wasn't backed.

Conceded six to Liverpool at home. Gave up two goal leads to Brighton and Chelsea. Lost to Ipswich at home and Palace away. Lost to Newcastle away. Lost to Arsenal at home. Lost to Bournemouth away.

All different types of losses to different types of teams. I’m not hearing all these excuses anymore. Maybe if he learnt how to adapt some of these losses could have been draws or wins but unfortunately he doesn’t believe in tactical flexibility.

It’s fascinating. The last 3 managers had low possession with some success (Conte getting 4th). This manager has changed the approach but the end result is the same. The consistent thread is the quality of the players in the squad which is either down to recruitment team or the chairman. What demonstrates this more than anything is having the most amazing ground but playing an 18 year old at centre back because the squad has no depth.

It’s funny whenever I ask on these type of videos who we bring in no one has a name just all say anyone is better yet Jose and Conte didn’t bring success to the club and neither did Poch and all the time they were made to shop in the bargain basement for players but we blame the manager.

It’s like we are trying to make a cake without an oven or the ingredients then moaning when it tastes terrible.

We are in a rebuild era and sacking Ange now is just ridiculous! Our team is stretched like no other team in the PL…we need to be realistic and stand together. Get everyone back and we all know what a different team we are and that’s the team that can beat anyone! We need that help in the January window 🙏🕊️

With a full strength squad we struggle to play the way Ange wants to, on a consistent basis. The manager has to realize he needs to adapt a bit, especially with the limited defensive options we have right now...

Ange in, Ange out, will it make any difference.
Maybe we should go for Nuno, oh no we’ve already sacked him.
We all know what the problem is at this club.

The best thing i did today was not watching the match. we should keep our mental health. Bring back Pochettino. Back to our glorious days.

The large issue is he is set on always turning it up 100 in every game, which works, when you have the adequate depth. We’re much too thin right now and we need to take a note out of Forest book. We need to just sit back, hangout and win a few counters. Teams like Forest just have to wait until we gas ourselves out then get a foul up on us. After that they sit back and chill until the match is over. Until we’re back to full health or we get enough depth, we need to sit back and try to win in a boring fashion. Once we’re healthy, then we can return to Angeball.

If an injury crisis to key players and others suffering from burnout doesn't count to the assessments people make, then I don't know what will.

This is part of the painful rebuild (transfers out/released) Poch spoke about.

Need to stick with Ange and the team rather than this 'swipe left' mentality.

He's been here 18 months taking over a team that finished 5th with a soon leaving, 30 goal scoring Kane, and played some of the worse football in the Premier League.

People think everything was fixed after his first 10 games.

I´ve had it. I´ve had enough of this... Switching off for a while. This isn´t doing my health any good. To quote (slightly adjusted) Depeche Mode "I just have had enough".

Realistically, the most viable option for Ange once/if he exits soon, is Thomas Frank.
Premier league proven, can work with a budget.
I just can’t see what Ange is trying to do, not willing to adapt…

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" The only constant in this insanity is Daniel Levy/Enic. Even if you calculate probabilities, Spurs can never be successful with this constant in place. The best manager they had was Poch and Levy didn't back him. This is self harm.

If you can't breakdown the oppositions defense then you can have all the possession you want, but it wont win matches.
