It made more sense years ago when the shows actually did have promotional benefits, but I think with kpop becoming more popular worldwide, one video that they recorded in the hallway for free going viral will do much more promotion for a group and actually make them a substantial amount of money instead of a group of 5 having to split $36 and pay for stylists and everything. With the emergence of social media and everything being at our fingertips and not NEEDING tv to promote, I really think these shows need to figure out a better system. Or at least the companies do. Something.

I think the companies have the power here. If enough companies "boycott" shows (if they truly aren't profitable for companies either) until these hows have no one to broadcast, so they'll practically beg companies to come back or lose the show.

How do these 'Idol' account for the exposure to their careers (money) due to this exposure. Consider their fans who support them, with their hearts and souls, what some of the fans sacrifice to support them? Just a thought. is about 70 USD and 67 EUR. That is way less than a non-idol would get in any industry . Looks like the ones making money are the people around the idols with some exceptions.
