You can tell the devs are passionate about this game. They didn't just get ahold of a huge IP to just put together a mess and profit off of. They are reading the books over and over, watching the movies, making sure everything is connected, even rooms that were never shown but just vaguely mentioned. Every HP fan probably wanted to explore the whole Hogwarts castle or explore beyond certain locations. I am hyped for this game and hope it's not a disappointment or delayed. Not saying delaying is bad but it doesn't look good to announce when it might release and fail to deliver.

I've been disappointed with games before, particularly AAA games, but it's never really mattered all that much, because they weren't literally toying with mine, and many other people's childhood. This looks absolutely phenomenal. Dear lord I hope they don't disappoint. It must be incredible to work on this project, but I think there's a lot of responsibility, too.

I'm quite relieved that they went for a new story with different characters. It opens up new ways for fans to immerse while not messing with their pre-conceived ideas about any characters that fans are already familiar with almost intimately (in a parasocial sense of course). A new story also prevents to a certain extent contradictions with the canon (like how in pokemon a pokedex entry has something about them jetting around at the speed of sound, but they are stat-vise slower than a fat cat)

I think the thing that really just nailed it for me was when I was walking up the astronomy tower and found the tapestry of the ballet dancing trolls and a passage of the book came back to me where Harry was describing where the room of requirement was.

The people who made this game religiously followed the source material.

I love the fact that they show the kitchen! It looks like there's a puzzle to enter it which involves tickling a pear. That's such an obscure detail and the fact they put it in the game is incredible.

I can't wait to explore the castle! It's been my dream to roam a fully realized Hogwarts, with secrets and surprises, and of course all the iconic locations.

The only thing I can ask for now is that music from the films is present in the game. I'd love to be exploring Hogsmede as 'Dumbledore's Army' is playing in the background! That would be an absolutely emotional gutpunch - I think I'd cry with nostalgia.
