IKEA Skådis Pegboard System | Easy Installation Tips

The IKEA Skådis Pegboard System has been installed in the craft room, so I've got wall storage AND a YouTube filming backdrop now. My husband did the hard work on his day off, so we are showing the entire process of putting up the pegboards and sharing knowledge we learned that hopefully will be helpful to you.

I bought 4 of the 30" x 22" pegboards in white, plus a lot of random Skådis accessories. It must be very popular as IKEA was out of stock on quite a few extras, so I've placed an online order for more. So far I've spent about $122.

A storage solution for the entire home
You can combine SKÅDIS storage series any way you like. And if you change your mind, it’s easy to change the accessories and create a new solution. Choose if you want to attach it to a desktop, to a shelf or hang it on the wall.

Supplies we recommend for this project:
Round head screws (make sure the head is large enough for the screw hole)
Drywall anchors
Screwdriver / power drill
Bubble level
Measuring tape
Pencil / pen

Crazy that the drywall screws aren't included with this. It's not even listed in the needed tools in the Ikea instructions.

Note to anyone thinking of buying this: You DO need to buy additional screws and anchors (two of each) that are big enough to hold the mount! I was looking for videos because I thought I missed something, but nope they just weren't included.

what kind and exact size screws are necessary?

I am absolutely not handy but did pick up this pegboard system. I wish the package let you know it didn't come with the screws to wallmount it! None of the screws we have are large enough, what size would you recommend? Honestly haven't ever bought screws, not sure what to look for - we just have amassed a collection from furniture building kits and sweeping the garage when we moved in.

I took a small trip to IKEA and spent about $60, 000 and I only went in for a packet of shelf brackets, a spare shelf, some tea lights and a pint of milk.

Thank you for this. I’ve used the Skadis pegboards for awhile now, but I had them attached to my table. I’m now in a different house and want to mount them on the wall. I kept all of the hardware, so now I’m about to convince my hubby to put them up for me.
