Date Cake Recipe

This video shows you how to make delicious date cake. I love this recipe, I hope you like it too.

Ingredients:

1 pound dates, pitted and chopped
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3 1/4 teaspoons baking powder

For those of us who live outside the US of A, and use the metric system, here are some equivalents; 1lb = 450 grammes. 1 cup = 250 millilitres (ml); teaspoon or 5ml. tablespoon or 15ml. We do use such inaccurate measures too! . and 350 F = 180 Celsius. Looks good, and I will get some more dates and try it tomorrow. Thank you, young lady.

just saying, 1 pound dates is roughly 19 dates and 350 Fahrenheit is 160 - 180 celsius.

Should have let the date/water mixture cool. You liquified the creamed butter.

I'm sorry but according to the quantity of flour, too much leavenings are used, too much baking soda and too much baking powder. Also too much water added. You've wrongly measured the quantity for the flour, it should be 4 cups of flour, 4 tsp of baking powder and 1 more cup of sugar or depending how sweet you want.
