Lada VAZ 2104 Cold start attempt with five year old fuel

Temperature was -23,5°C and It's been a few years since it was last started.
This is not a tutorial but entertainment. Please don't treat your car like this.

Engine of the car is 1,7 liter single point injection, so no manual choke.

The first battery was not in great condition but the second seemed to have plenty of power.

This car looking 2107 inside!! My Lada Samara I started 7-8 years old fuel I not use much years ago. 16960 km now! 30 years old

01:03 - The thermometer showed -23C. That is exactly the coldest I have ever measured in Greece (with 3 different thermometers, so no erroneous reading). It was during my military service back in 2001. The winter of 2001-02 was the coldest of the past 60-80 years in Greece and we got near-polar temperatures and snow up to waist level. I can tell you, that's cold indeed! If you removed your gloves, your hands froze in 1 minute and you could not move them, then when going inside and placing them near the heat it ended in an excruciating pain. So you needed first to relax a bit in the corridor where it had a "cozy" 4 to 5C, first, then move in the room. However none of us was sick, as viruses don't tend to be very energetic in such conditions. For us it is 1 winter in 10 or 20 and even so it will last 1-2 weeks at worst. For Russians, this is just their every winter, the whole effing winter!

You could start it ! Very good. Very much people brake the starter or other engine's part. I like the moment where the starter begins to turn quickly and the smoke goes-out because one minute later, the car is on walk ! With a modern electronic vehicle, I think the calculator already be out of order, as the battery ... thank you for the video.👍

Excelente carro, tengo un lada año 2006, modelo 2107, en mi país es caliente hace calor, mi carro ruso tiene aire acondicionado va muy bien 2 años con el y nunca me dejado botado.

Old Ladas were hard to kill and designed for keeping people mobile, not dealers and manufacturers employed. Easy and cheap to fix.

Around me, most of the hunters drive Lada Nivas for a reason. The only thing more indestructible are old Toyota pickups. The are way more sustainable than a new EV. That Niva will be running somewhere years after a new car, especially EVs are in the scrap yard.

Топливо не подходит. По мере того, как машина продолжала стоять, она погружалась в бак, и основная топливная магистраль была пуста. Перед запуском двигателя необходимо было подкачать топливо, в этих автомобилях есть рычаг ручной подкачки на топливном насосе. Прокачивайте до тех пор, пока не почувствуете свободный ход рычага насоса. Тогда Лада заведется с первых двух оборотов, пока двигатель исправен и зажигание исправно.
Paliwo nie dochodzi dobrze. Jak samochód stał dłuzej, to cofnęło się do baku i główny przewód paliwowy pusty. Przed uruchamieniam silnika trzeba było paliwo napompować, te samochody mają dźwignię ręcznego pompowania przy pompie paliwa. Pompować do czasu wyczucia luzu dźwigni pompy. Wtedy taka Łada odpali z dwóch pierwszych obrotów, o ile silnik jest zdrowy i zapłon sprawny.

Смажьте уплотнители дверей глицерином, зимой они не прилипнут и дверь сразу откроется. Зимой процесс необходимо повторять ежемесячно.
Nasmarować uszczelki drzwi gliceryną, to się w zimie lepić nie będą i drzwi otworzą sie od razu. Proces trzeba powtarzać co miesiąc, w zimie.

Мы ещё делали такое -- перед постановкой на стоянку, сразу глушили, потом через шланг вентиляции картера вливали 300-500 гр. бензина в масло, заводили, с отсоединённым шлангом на пару минут, глушили, ставили шланг на место и мотор с утра заводился как пчёлка . Правда в первые полчаса работы не было холостого из-за переобогащения парами бензина, но затем все входило в норму, бензин по мере прогревания испарялся и сгорал в двигателе . Естественно ёршик пламегасителя должен быть на месте .
