I am very happy with my Corsair RM 550x, it has served me well for nearly a year now and that is with having to switch to PSU power several times because of Eskom. Thank you Corsair!

Don't forget the ripple and the voltage regulation of PSU, they're also important. Also the new VS (HEC platform) is better than the older VS (based on CWT GPK Platform, the 650W reached the wattage but the 12V dropped out of spec to 11.26v, and the OCP triggered around 800w) but still has a flaw: the ripple on 3.3V is 80mv, and it's out of spec (the max allowed is 50mv), and still has a flawed OLP (overload protection) that doesn't trigger in time and it forms a resonance ripple around 250-300mv on 12v (totally out of spec and very dangerous for the PC).
There are videos made by Falco75 where he tests with a load (lamps and resistors) and he measures voltage and ripple of PSUs

My "value minded" CX650M bronze rated with 5 year warranty crapped out after one day of not even full load usage. The good part is that it did not damage the rest of the system so I could still use it after changing the PSU. SO thank you Corsair for not frying the rest of my PC.
