I appreciate the effort to do something innovative and unique, but I personally didn't like this production. With no audio, the game just seems like B-roll footage, the commentator's face cam is distracting and unnecessary, and with the streams being choppy and unreliable, this production just ended up not working. Again I like the creative approach, and the desire to try something new, but overall this wasn't working

Just FYI everyone, there was no production team for this tournament. EA Broadcast head tweeted out that they had the weekend off. Hence why the different format and the audio/visual issues.

First of all, big kudos to Fallout for basically running this whole thing by himself from his desk. I like some of the innovations, but I didn't like some of others.

Suggestions to keep:
I liked Fallout bringing on pros for analysis. I almost never pay attention during the between-game dead time, but those short interviews were actually pretty interesting to listen to.
Some of the casters were definitely more natural and comfortable with their smaller streams. Guhrl and Tsquared especially. However, these did feel more like a watch party rather than an official stream.
Problems:
The audio and visual quality where the official stream had to hop between different streams was just too difficult to watch. I ended up watching Tsquared's stream and ignoring the playapex channel for most of it.
This was an attempt to try and bring more intimate analysis by directing us to four different casters who focused on specific teams, but I'm now realizing that this wasn't necessarily a problem in the first place. Casters going for 7 straight hours was rough and Tsquared's voice was GONE by the end of the night.
People watching on YouTube are not likely to know how to hop between different streams on Twitch. I only ended up watching Twitch streams recently, and I'm pretty interested in the esports scene.
I also miss the production value and the flashy graphics for results and the like. I know the production team was off-duty this weekend, but I know recognize the value they bring.

Overall, I don't think this was as bad as some other commenters are pointing out. There were some interesting innovations that I'd like to see explored, but ultimately the playapex official stream was just not enjoyable to watch.

Why not go back to old school, twitch like, eSports content? Old school - I mean like week ago for example...
And plz dont you ever mute (or even semi quiet) in-game sounds.
We are are apex junkies - who else would watch that?

Who had the brilliant idea to screen capture people's twitch channels and have gameplay on mute?

The change in style didn’t work at all. Blurry feeds, no in game sound etc, it was awfuI. I watched the first game then switched to watch a competitors twitch stream instead.

I can't believe they uploaded this. The production and quality are unwatchable I feel bad for the casters and players.

I usually love the content but, and I say this with love, go back to the way you used to do it. It's ok if we miss a fight or two just so long as we can hear and see the game.

I never liked this 15-30 mins chewing between games, but you've brought it to crescendo muting the entire game sound?
Whatever on earth, we should watch this - crazy?! Where are the timestamps?
by the way, why the record of EU Curcuit#2 is missing everywhere?

Ngl this was so confusing with the lag and constantly swapping the commentators.

Why are there irrelevant interviews in the middle of the game while the game and awesome commentary from tsquared is on mute ? Seems like a terrible idea.
I appreciate the upload of the whole tourney though

It’s crazy how much better the production value was in Lulu and Toosh’s tourneys

If you're struggling to watch the whole thing, I recommend skipping up to game 5 with Nicewigg co-casting. Honestly the most genuine sounding guy and got the hype going the whole game!!
