How to reset a Somfy RTS motor to the factory settings

When something goes wrong while programming your Somfy RTS motor, sometimes it's best to just reset it to the factory settings, so you can start from a clean slate.

Trouble shooting is often more difficult, so starting fresh can save you a lot of time.

You always need an RTS remote control to reset the motor.

All the steps are covered here.

Thanks. Very helpful video.
But now the only thing that doesn’t respons is the heater. I have an awing and a Remote with 5 channels. 1 for awing in-and-out. 2 light on-and-off. 3 blanket Inter front of the awing up-and-Down.
All of these 3 are back and working. But 4 with heater doesn’t respons
Any good ideas ?

I have an RTS multi channel controller with three shades all programmed on the group setting. The shades do not respond to the single channel settings. Also, my motor is AA battery powered. How do I get each shade to respond to their individual channels?

Having some very frustrating problems with our awning of about 8 years... just yesterday when trying to take the awning in, it started going forwards. managed to stop it and decided to follow your factory settings advice.
Trouble is the motor does not jog back and forth only forwards! Seems to be there´s a problem with the inward direction since it only moves out no matter what i try.
Typically we hade a pretty heavy rain storm on its way and I was forced to take the whole awning down manually. Any ideas? I´m just about climbing the walls!

I currently using Somfy 5 channel control on two roller shades.  Channel 1 = Shade 1, Channel 2 = Shade 2, Channel 3 = Shade 1 & 2.

For Shade 1, I need to reset the upper limit.  I believe I need to reset channel 1 and shade 1 motor back to factory settings.  The upper limit is too high (it is pass the point when the shade is in the upmost position).  It looks like if I unplug the motor for shade 1 as you mention in you video, I can reprogram the upper & lower limit by using the pin hole on back of the Somfy 5.

If I do the above, will my programing for Channels 2 & 3 stay intact?  Also if I am programing Channel 1 from factory settings, do I need to unplug Channel 2 for any reason.  If I do does that result in Channel 2 settings being reset since I am unplugging the battery power.

Thanks for you help.

I installed 2 brand new shutters over the weekend but neither one shows a sign of life. I tried the 3-8 second trick 20 times, but they simple seem dead. Any clues?
