My Broadtail Moors // Goldfish UPDATE

▼ LOTS OF INFO ▼This is the final video in a series of updates to bring you up to speed about the goldfish I have in my fish room. This week's update has been highly requested ever since I started this series! We're focusing on my group of broadtail moors that live in one of my 90 gallon Intex wading pools in my fish room. I got these fish about 1.5 years ago from Amy Shonka who breeds them. In this video you'll also find out how to acquire young high quality goldfish from US hobbyist breeders, what it means to "groom" your goldfish, what the difference is between broadtail moors and butterfly telescopes, and what an out-turned operculum is.

Had a fascination with black moors (surprised no one has questioned this name, especially these days!) since the late 80's when I started black moor keeping around 10 years old. I love the idea of a collection of mixed coloured telescopes, great to see other people sharing my interests.

Fish keeping has been in my family for generations. Each new generation has some favorite fish. My uncle had a jack Dempsey, my dad had piranhas. And the first and starter fish for all of them was a goldfish. I went straight to breeding guppies. And now that I've gotten 3 goldfish, in hooked. I have had problems with aggression in fish and goldfish are just puppies. I have even taught a couple of tricks. They are just amazing fish. Never had a problem with them.

Is it normal for me to like feeder fish. I like to put them in mini ponds and treat them like koi with respect.

Joey's new arowana when he just got it had an overturned gill plate as well. He fixed it by increasing the flow in the tank. Since they're fancy goldfish you could try to increase flow just a little bit if you want.
