Good thing about not being able to afford loads of cycling kit is I can never overdress :)

yep....exactly what I needed....here in Iceland...where we call summer whenever the temps rise slightly over the 8degree celsius mark...then the short sleeved jerseys and shorts come out of the closet and we forego the arm and leg warmers. Summer is here...until its gone next week....oh the fleeting temperment of the icelandic cycling seasons...

I know when I see you two in a video it’s going to be fun and entertaining 🤣 Favorite line “not my problem” - Manon to Hank while he tries to strip off his winter cycling pants

I did it again.
It's the same every year, I never learn, every time I come home sunburnt on my first summer ride .
Don't be like me, always remember to wear suncreen on your exposed skin.

Watching Manon and Hank talk about warm weather while in England makes this Aussie laugh so hard. Should be titled "how to dress over the only 4 warm days a year"

Some of the best accessory's to have in those in-between temperatures are wind vests, thin arm warmers, and thin knee warmers. They all can be taken off and carried in your jersey pockets.

Much thanks for the laughs you two, enjoying these GCN videos are most definitely the high-light of my day. Ciao

I was surprised that there was no mention of the additional heat a rider absorbs when wearing an all black kit. Years back at the TDF Team Cervelo which had primarily black kit, switched out to primarily white kit to reduce heat build up.

I just want to say that I could not find any better cycling channel than GCN. Absolute best about cycling.

Did the 2021 Festive 500 where every day was over 40C, and the only day to get through that was starting before dawn, watching the sunrise with a coffee, and being done and indoors again before 9am at which point it was just in the low 30s. Selecting a time of day when the sun is lower on the horizon (both ends of the day) has a lower UV index, and use the middle of the day to see something new so ride there in the morning, and ride back in the afternoon. There are also good long sleeve summer jerseys that have a UPF rating that'll stop the sunburn (e.g., Bellweather Sol-Air).

As a cyclist in the Philippines, all these tips are pretty much gospel. At noon, we even need to wear arm sleeves so we don't get sunburned :c

I have the Giro Aerohead hank was wearing, and its actually quite well ventilated. It also blocks far more of the sun, keeping you cooler (and not sunburning your face and scalp)

6:38 "Manon, I'm just too hot!" You oughta make a meme out of this! And print that on the next GCN tee-shirts as well! 😂🤣😅

In the UK, "Hot" is a relative term....Where I live, Hot means 29 to 32 C. Warm means 20 to 28 C. Cool means 13 to 19 C, and cold means 5 to 12 C. Very cold means -4 to 4 C (but I don't do that anymore)

I dont think yall know what hot is! In Texas its all about sunscreen, but I like a good sports sunscreen around spf30 so u still sweat and it goes on easily. I would say you have the kit correct, although I forego a baselayer if its over 90F, its so humid in east Texas nothing evaporates anyway...

And now a video on how to protect yourself from the sun. I prefer to have as much of the body covered up as possible and just take it easy. Sunscreen is nice, but on long rides it's not really effective imho and sweat tends to lower the protection even more.
