* The EFF has once again described the outcome of the Section194 inquiry into suspended Public Protector Advocate Busiswe Mkhwebane to hold office as predetermined.

* Dr Nandipha Magudumana's lawyer Machini Motloung says they are dismayed by the Bloemfontein magistrate court's dismissal of her bail application. In a ruling yesterday, Magistrate Estelle de Lange said Magudumana played a huge role in the escape of her lover convicted rapist and murderer, Thabo Bester, and can easily tamper with the evidence. She is facing charges of assisting an inmate to escape from lawful custody, violation of a dead body and defeating the ends of justice.
Matloung says they are still studying the judgement in its entirety.

* The ANC has approached the Constitutional Court in its bid to challenge a court order to hand over cadre deployment records to the DA. This comes after the Supreme Court of Appeal last week dismissed the ANC's application for leave to appeal the Gauteng High Court's dismissal of its bid to overturn an earlier ruling ordering it to hand over the full records dating back to January 2013.
The matter forms part of the DA's campaign to have cadre deployment declared unconstitutional.
