Beautiful car. Nice car to drive. No fatigue on long journeys. Good sound atmosphere.

correction the 2.0 turbo engine that the regal/insignia use is actually a saab developed engine under GM money

The wood on this car looks great compared to the darker plastics

Partly reviewed unfortunatelly, seems none of the reviews these days talking about most important things - reliability and safty. and saab would be a leader in mid class. I have 9-3 2008 200miles on the clock the only visits to garage are change oil, tyres, bulbs and filters for the last 5 years. Go Saab Go!

Saab wants this car to compete with the BMW 5 series and the Audi A6. Actually, a more realistic comparison would be the Audi A4 and the Volvo S60. Saab dealers that have left over 2010 models are discounting them significantly! What was a 51K car is now selling for 39K. Give Saab some time. The 9-4 CUV & the new 9-3 will both be out over the course of the next 18 months and they are both Saab design. In fact, the new 9-3 will use engines built by BMW, the same motors that are in the Mini Cooper

I'm rooting for SAAB as long as they make good on getting rid of the inferior GM interior bits.

the turbo4 16v is easily tuned to 290 HP and drives great.

@SPHINX192 I dont see why you are being so unrealistic about this car. A top of the line loaded Aero may cost you 56K.... tops. This car in the review cost nothing close to 56K and where I live the 4 cylinders start at only about 35K. As far as the plastic goes did you not see the wood in this video? If you dont like the car just say so and stop nagging about it.

Steve, I always find your reviews to be as informative as they are entertaining; top marks for your thoroughness. I am, however, baffled as to why you frequently cite a vehicle's capability to run on E85. I know that these vehicles may portend a cleaner fuel use, but as a New York resident, I have yet to see a single E85 pump in our beloved Empire State. How realistic is this E85 nonsense when the vast majority of car manufacturers have rendered ethanol/gas fuels as cost prohibitive?

I would rather have a Five series or Jaguar XF. They just seem like more complete packages, and I don't really like the look of it. Are they actually competition for this in the US?

@austinman1995 They don't in the UK. The Saab is considered a Five series competitor over here, but I suppose we have the 520D. You don't have get mad because I asked a question.

The engine it uses is the same LNF Turbo unit from the Regal which is similar to that in the Cobalt SS Turbo. Meaning it's got a decent aftermarket for it and the "fun" could just be a ECU tune away. Not to mention I'm sure it's more fun in Manual guise.
