Thank god you saved me i downgraded my Ipod 5 and now i can jailbreak (it was not previously jail broken but  just decided i wanted to after updating to 8.1.3) so thank you i don't see why people are complaining about broken files.

To anyone that wants to know, this still works. I was on iOS 8.0 (the first iteration of iOS 8 and since 8.1.3 is out and a ton of apps require 8.0.1 to run I decided to upgrade when I had the limited chance to do so. It worked fine for me and my phone is currently restoring. No errors or anything. A tip if you don't know what IPSW you need, check the model on the back of your phone. It's in the lower part of the phone and should be so on and so forth. Look up the model number to figure out if you have a GSM, CDMA or GSM + CDMA phone. Another tip if you're STILL lost (this is also simpler.)

If you got your phone from Verizon, it is GSM+CMDA most likely.
If you got your phone from AT&T/T-Mobile/US Cellular/Boost Mobile/Tracfone/whatever your phone is likely GSM only.
If you got your phone from Sprint or Cricket it is likely CMDA only.
If you bought your phone unlocked it is (essentially) the same as the Verizon model. It is likely GSM+CMDA/Global.

Hopefully that helps some of you out.

I downgraded iTunes to 12.0, but when I try to downgrade to iOS 8.1.2, the message "This device isn't eligible for the requested build." I downloaded the right version 8.1.2 for my phone model. What can I do to fix this? I don't have access to another computer.
