Ayton will forever be the "yeah he's obviously good and better than most centers but I will usually take the other guy in any kind of big man matchup" guy

Harden didn’t put up numbers till his move to Houston. Luka did it immediately.

Luka hasn’t? Shidddd what else could he do to prove he’s on that trajectory?

To say Luka hasnt lived up to prime harden comparisons when he has taken his team to the conference finals been all nba multiple times and even in MVP conversation is crazy

Luka already passed up harden in my eyes. Luka has performed better in the playoffs so far. Luka in elimination games is incredible. Whereas Harden is shocking 🤷🏾‍♂️

Luka was in MVP convo by his sophomore season as a 20 year old and was an all star / all nba - first team

Luka now has definitely surpassed prime Harden, Harden cant say he led a team to the finals

Player comps are not career comps. They are talking more about their about play styles and saying it's probable that they might reach some of the accolades that the player they are comparing them to achieved

this guy talking shit about Luka like 2018 Harden wasn't a foul merchant hugging the defender arm with his off hand every single shot unless it was a 4 steps step back 😭😭

Draft comparisons aren’t to say this is how their careers will end up. It’s to compare play styles

As a Suns fan, the sad thing with Ayton is 2 things in my opinion. And they form this endless circle that kind of has kept his career from taking off...

1. He lacks consistent hustle and confidence to his game

2. He's never put in a position to maximize his strengths

Our current HC wants to only use him as a PnR lob guy. That's just not Ayton's game. He has one of the smoothest midrange jumpers for a big man in the entire league. The team has little to no confidence in him and in some cases outright refuses to give him the ball in advantageous situations, instead relying on Booker or CP3 going ISO. And with that lack of trust, he takes plays and sometimes even whole games off because why put his body on the line for little to no opportunities?

On the flip side, his energy and hustle are a real concern, and maybe if he put forth more effort he'd get more opportunities.

Countering again, the Suns' offensive system is not designed to maximize Centers. All Centers in the Suns system are asked to really do just 3 things.

Set screens, grab rebounds, and defend.

Ayton is good at 2 of those things, but it's not his go-to strength.

I think if you put him on a team and in an offense that focuses on an inside-out game, he'd thrive more in that environment.

(Remember, he had a historically great first playoffs in 2021)

Bro really said Luka is a foul merchant while saying James was not

Nobody’s lived up to their comp more than Luka. He’s remarkably similar to Harden and on the path to pass him easily

Luka definitely hasn't lived up to cause he decided to show up to the playoffs which is so uncharacteristic of Harden to do (unless we see more of what we saw in Boston cause my man man cooked).
