The Eurasian or common Blackbird (Turdus merula) is one of the most common and well known garden and woodland birds. Over five million pairs breed in the UK each year and in cold years more than 10 million more migrate here for the winter.
In this video you can learn about the appearance, diet, behaviour and nesting of this often overlooked species of garden bird.

One of my favourite birds, I love to hear them singing early in the morning, it makes going to work a bit more cheerful, super film with some great nest scenes, I hope you continue to make more films.

Great video.  I love Blackbirds and we always have them in  the garden and many nest around in summer when I love to see their young come to feed. We have one with a white feather in his tail and I am happy to say this is his third year with us. Keep up the good work. Greetings, Julie.

👍🤚my new friend Liam very nice documentary or video on the blackbirds. I think it was really good of you to point out how most of the time they are brown or tan until they reach full adult and it is the males. I do love our red wing black birds which are different then this video but those sweet sounds they make are unmistakable.
Thanks for sharing have a good night take care from Florida 💕

Hello Liam, I just find your channel and I'm loving it! I do have a question, I was trying to find some tips to care of a baby blackbird that I found on my garden, she have fell from the nest from my 2 floor roof, so it was a big impact over the gravel and bricks. She has little to none feathers when I get her, I tried to put again on the nest, but no success, then I hang a basket out of the window just below the nest entrance to see if the parent feed her, but no success again. Now she are thriving and starting to learn how to break, soon she will be starting to feed her self, 8 days since I found her. But the my real concern is because 2 days ago she stated to sneeze, at beginning was short and not frequent, but now it's like 4 to 6 sneezes in sequence, and sound very wet. She has been feed with earth worms mostly, some dry mealworms(soaked in water over night, but dried on paper befor feeding). Any ideas what these sneezes can be? She is eating ok, she is very active and fully feathered. Thank you soo much. I'm looking forward to hear from you ;)
Congrats for the channel again
