I am in band and I joined with alto saxophone late like a whole entire semester late, but I am still playing and at the same level as everybody else who has been there for a semester before me just a month after thankfully, and my mom wants me to learn careless whisper, so thank you so much

Yo bro thanks so much. My middle school band teacher said we would not learn this cause it’s “too hard” but once I saw this It took me a few tries but I got it ❤️

I always play this on my tenor and my band instructor gets furious in the funniest way.

Wrong! The original was played on a Tenor by Steve Gregory! It was recorded on a tape machine slowed down by one semitone, and later was sped back up [one semitone]
(therefore it may sound like an Alto, but it's a tenor)

That's the most in-tune C# (Without octave key) I've heard

It was actually recorded on Tenor, the track was slowed down a halfstep to allow for easier fingering. Then it was sped back up which is why the sax sounds kind of in between a tenor and an alto.

How do you play the 2nd to last E on a alto sax? (Sorry I’m having trouble figuring it out)

tonalities. The tune is not in DMajor...IT'S MINOR! B MINOR on alto sax (which is D minor concert key)

Correction: That's not D-major, but it's relative minor, B-minor!

A lot of people are saying it’s a tenor. Not in the recording guys. It’s an alto sax. But it sounds super good on the tenor as well and that was always the sax he used at live concerts.
