I used to play this game a lot when I was in high school (around 2002). Twenty years have passed in the blink of an eye, and I really miss playing games with my friends.

And to think that this game is already 25 years old, I miss the times when I used to go to Internet cafes just to play this.

Broooo the memories...I was talking with a friend and we randomly reminisced about way back when we used to play and how we used to love this map. Must've had hundreds of thousands of games on this map, fun times and great memories.

В 2004 мне подарили компьютер на базе Duron 900 там был CS, и ещё какие-то игры. Первая моя карта в CS была assault. Это было золотое время.

Being a kid in the 2000s was a better experience that I could enjoy in the best era of gaming. Even back then I lived without internet but the sources games were on my parents old computer and gave me many hours of fun like counter strike playing with friends or without them.

I vividly remember the graphical buy-menue being intruduced, and at first feeling like such a slow.down. Damn I'm old. But even more damn did we have fun back then with this!

There was a LAN party in my town with ~300 participants, and that weekend a new update of CS dropped (the HL addon type). There was one single speed (64kb/s) ISDN connection for the whole venue, and only the main office PC could use it. All other people were completely offline. (As in actually having no internet, not even through phones - those would only be a common thing a decade later here at best.)
As soon as the organizers had it, mostly non-working hastily burned CDs made their rounds through the rows, taking at least 4h to get most people up to speed, ultimately eating almost a whole evening out of a 2.5 day lasting thing. (Keep in mind that CD burners cost a fortune back then, and there were probably 3 or 4 of them total at the place. Burning was also a 2x to 4x at best affair.)

Ahhh nostalgia.
