3 Day Sale on all my DJ Courses - ends Monday!

If you want to get my free mini course with free videos on set preparation, mixing in key, where to set cues etc, go to this link:

In this video I’ll show you how to mix future house and bass house so your DJ transitions work every time. I’ll also show you how to mix out of difficult tracks, and even how to play the best parts of each track so you maintain a pumping energy on your floor from start to finish. I’ll also explain how you can use familiar patterns or vocals to add a new level of professionalism to your sound and I’ll even look at things to be mindful of when replacing the drop and will even touch on double drops.

Love the way you explain things Andrew. This is what puts you above the other DJ schools by a mile....

Thank you Andrew. I love the way you communicate things. You don't make things harder than it should. Not putting unnecessary pressure on people who are trying to learn.

Andrew, although I've been around for many a year, and like to think I know it all, you always throw out a little nugget that brings me humbly back down to the planet! Of all the DJ educational channels, yours is by far the most fun and your whole attitude and demeanor just brighten my day. Thanks for all you do and keep teaching, keep smiling, keep spinnin' and keep entertaining. Cheers mate from an expat Brit based in Texas!

When I set cue points, I ignore rekordbox' markings and go with my ears, phrasing and instinct. So when I hear a change or significant change I set a cue point. Then I mark these cue points based on temperature.
Green - start of the track or vocals
Amber - warming up
Yellow - usually just the intro, feels chill
Blue - Cooldown
Red - Getting HOT
Magenta - Mind blown!
I also have an XP1, so I can set plenty of cue points, and I can extend the track indefinitely as the phrasing is also spot on, because I listen closely.

Hi guys, I started to DJ for 1st time back in April. Like all of us wanting to learn, it takes some time to become attuned to everything, as there is sooo much info out there. I came across Andrew and I have to say, out of the 100s of places I have been, he is one of the best for sure. The way that he explains transitioning and does hands on (in particular this is what I am focusing on right now) is great. Cannot believe that there are not more subscribers on this site. It really is one of the best. Please keep the videos coming and any DJ wanting to learn should come to you and your courses. Cheers fella, really appreciate what you do, Stuart.

Mixing Trance music is about emotion the melodic chorus or break part is the most essential in Trance music...to mix a beat over the Melodic part of another track is nuts....

Always a pleasure to my ears to listen to you play and explain what you do, and why you do it. Your style of mixing in tracks is great. I started using the EQ to bring in the new track and fade out the last track too. It’s taking a little getting used too but now hooked on this method of mixing. No more straight fader, hahahaha!!!!
Thanks Andrew!!!
