There are a few times in your life when you know you just witnessed a spark of divinity, this was one of
At least it was for me first time I saw this performance.

Emma can not eat since she was only 9 month old and she has to go under stomach surgery every 5 month to replace the tubes... She has chosen 3 years ago to refuse anesthesia for that to reduce the risks for her vocal cords. When André Rieu heard about her, 2 years ago, he asked Emma to come to his studio and sing a few songs for him. And the rest is history: he decided to try to make it possible for Emma to live her dream. This year and next year she will be on world tour with him (Emma's mother is always behind the stage and in the hotels for her to give her the care and support she needs). She also has lots of support from André and his team: they love her, and asists her wherever they can. And, thanks to André Rieu, Emma will have her own concert on 21 October next year in the Royal Concert Hall in Amsterdam. Within 3 hours after that announcement was made it was sold out....

Nice reaction. Your voice is very soothing. You emote empathy gracefully. Carry on.

No one, with the possible exception of Emma herself, Maestro Rieu, and the orchestra was ready for what transpired on the Vrijthof in Maastricht that warm summer's evening in July of 2023. Who would have thought that this small, demure young Dutch girl was about to pull-off what may be one of the greatest vocal performances ever? Yet, that is exactly what happened.
I saw it a month later when I found the official video in my YouTube feed. After watching it I was dumbfounded. I kept asking myself: what did I just witness here? I had never seen anything like it before. To say that Emma Kok is an extraordinary young vocal artist would be a gross understatement. She is phenomenal, and that may still understate her talent and ability. I'm pretty sure we'll be hearing much more from Emma in the years ahead.
Thanks for your reaction. All the best.

Nice reaction, thanks. You commented on not knowing the story of the 'Voila' lyrics. Well, although not a French speaker as such, this song means a lot to Emma. She chose this song and sang it in concerts and on television before Andre had asked her to sing it with him because it had a profound meaning to her and her own story. She sang it in a virtual duet with Barbara Pravi who wrote the song - they met in March 2023 and have mutual respect. Basically, Voila is a song seeking self-acceptance and for the acceptance of others for who you are, both qualities and flaws. The lyrics here mean a lot to Emma from her struggles with her illness and that she was bullied at school because of her feeding pumps and because she is small (at 15 she was only 151cm (5ft) tall and wearing 12cm (5in) heels in this video)

Emma is not just a great singer, she is a role model both from her struggles against adversity but also Emma is a notable contributor to society. The introduction mentions Emma's foundation and that she won The Voice Kids NL in 2021, but did you know how the foundation started? Emma also won the first series of Ministars in early 2023 (singing a slightly more forceful version of Voila). When asked by the producers what she would do with the €25000 prize money (which the rules stated she could only receive when she was 18), Emma said she would use it to start a foundation: a) to raise awareness of her little known condition, b) to support fellow sufferers of all gastrointestinal illnesses, c) to raise further funds to support research into gastroparesis. They were so impressed by her vision that they decided she could have the money immediately. A few weeks later Emma's Gastrostars foundation was born.

Emma has also performed concerts for the benefit of musicians / artists impacted by Covid, people affected by flooding in Limburg, and those affected by the Turkish earthquake. Emma has performed for children's cancer charities and in addition to her own foundation is also an ambassador for paediatric research in the area where she lives. Emma is also an ambassador for a government fund supporting additional coaching in music and sport for young people, plus Emma has supported the Future Music charity helping school age children gaining access to musical instruments and classes. She diligently supports the Dutch national program of commemoration and education around liberation, freedom and peace, regularly singing with the Royal Dutch Military Band.

Next March, 2 days before she travels to Sofia for a series of concerts, and 3 days before her 17th birthday, Emma will perform at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam in support of Alzheimers Netherlands.

This is a young lady smashing her own career, but also being selfless in her support of others along the way. For a young person who's health condition limits her energy, she isn't leaving an ounce of what she does have unused. I have so much admiration and respect for this remarkable young lady. The world needs to know the story of Emma Kok.

Lyrics in English
viola
Listen to me
Me the half-singer
Tell me about me
To your loves, to your friends
Tell them about this black-eyed girl and her crazy dream
What I want is to write stories that reach you
That's all
That's it, that's it, that's who I am
Here I am even if exposed I am afraid, yes
Here I am in noise and silence
Look at me, or at least what's left of it
Look at me, before I hate myself
What to tell you, that the lips of another will not tell you
It's not much, but all I have I put it there, that's it.
That's it, that's it, that's who I am
Here I am even if exposed it's over
It's my mouth it's my cry, here I am too bad
That's it, that's it, that's it, that's right here
Me my dream my desire, as I die as I laugh
Here I am in noise and silence
Don't leave, I beg you stay a long time
It may not save me, no
But to do without you I don't know how
Love me as we love a friend who is gone forever
I want to be loved because I don't know how to like my contours
That's it, that's it, that's who I am
Here I am even if exposed it's over
Here I am in the noise and in the fury too
Look at me at last and my eyes and hands
Everything I have is here, it's my mouth it's my cry
Here I am, here I am, here I am
That's it, that's it, that's it, that's it.
There you go

Like so many others I was completely dumpstruck when I watched this performance for the first time. Didn't realized what I've just watched and lost for words. I remember hearing her for the first time during a short 10s clip on the children's news program. I was drawn to her voice immediately, not even knowing about her story. I looked up the video on YT, cried like a baby and became a fan for life instantaneously. This girl is going to be big.
Like others in comments have suggested you might want to check out 'Dancing On The Stars'. A new song one year after 'Voilá':
Much underrated and very impressive: her rendition of 'Father' during a memorial for fallen US soldiers during WWII:
Another masterpiece: her cover of 'Imagine'. A difficult song to cover because we all have the original in our mind. But she respectfully kept close to the original and still did her 'Emma magic' to the song:

Listen to me
Écoutez-moi

Me, the half singer
Moi, la chanteuse à demi

Talk about me
Parlez de moi

To your loves, to your friends
À vos amours, à vos amis

Tell them about this black-eyed girl and her crazy dream
Parlez-leur de cette fille aux yeux noirs et de son rêve fou

What I want is to write stories that reach you
Moi c'que j'veux, c'est écrire des histoires qui arrivent jusqu'à vous

That's all
C'est tout
There, there, there, there, that's who I am
Voilà, voilà, voilà, voilà qui je suis

Here I am, even if stripped bare, I'm afraid, yes
Me voilà, même si mise à nu, j'ai peur, oui

Here I am in the noise and in the silence
Me voilà dans le bruit et dans le silence
Look at me, or at least what's left of it
Regardez-moi, ou du moins ce qu'il en reste

Look at me, before I hate myself
Regardez-moi, avant que je me déteste

What to tell you that someone else's lips won't tell you
Quoi vous dire, que les lèvres d'une autre ne vous diront pas

It's not much, but everything I have I put there, that's it
C'est peu de chose, mais moi tout ce que j'ai je le dépose là, voilà
There, there, there, there, that's who I am
Voilà, voilà, voilà, voilà qui je suis

Here I am, even if stripped bare, it's over
Me voilà, même si mise à nu, c'est fini

It's my face, it's my cry, here I am too bad
C'est ma gueule, c'est mon cri, me voilà tant pis

There you go, there you go, there you go, there you go right here
Voilà, voilà, voilà, voilà juste ici

Me, my dream, my desire, how I'm dying, how I laugh about it
Moi, mon rêve, mon envie, comme j'en crève, comme j'en ris

Here I am in the noise and in the silence
Me voilà dans le bruit et dans le silence
Don't leave, I beg you, stay a long time
Ne partez pas, j'vous en supplie, restez longtemps

Maybe it won't save me, no
Ça m'sauvera peut-être pas, non

But to do without you I don't know how
Mais faire sans vous j'sais pas comment

Love me like you love a friend who is gone forever
Aimez-moi comme on aime un ami qui s'en va pour toujours

I want people to love me because I don't know how to love my contours
J'veux qu'on m'aime parce que moi, je sais pas bien aimer mes contours
There, there, there, there, that's who I am
Voilà, voilà, voilà, voilà qui je suis

Here I am even if stripped bare, it's over
Me voilà même si mise à nu, c'est fini

Here I am in the sound and fury too
Me voilà dans le bruit et dans la fureur aussi

Look at me finally and my eyes and my hands
Regardez-moi enfin et mes yeux et mes mains

All I have is here, it's my face, it's my cry
Tout c'que j'ai est ici, c'est ma gueule, c'est mon cri

Here I am, here I am, here I am
Me voilà, me voilà, me voilà

There you go, there you go, there you go, there you go
Voilà, voilà, voilà, voilà

So
Voilà
