These birds are the Freedom Ranger Color Yield. They are our favorite bird to raise on our farm. They have a great flavor and texture and are a much superior product than what can be purchased in the grocery store.

We talk about how we package the birds, what the cost per package (retail) is, what our cost of input was, what the feed conversion ration is and all things related to the numbers on these chickens.

Pastured poultry is a great enterprise to get into on your homestead farm to help generate revenue or pay for your farming adventure. This is a great video for beginners or experienced farmers who are interested in adding pastured chickens to your business.

We follow man of the principles of Joel Salatin and his book Pastured Poultry Profits and have found them to be very helpful in scaling up our chicken enterprise.

We practice sustainable agriculture on our farm by using multi-species to build soil and fertilize the ground. We have pastured chickens, grass fed lamb, pastured turkey, farm fresh duck eggs and chicken eggs.

Thanks for all the info. We are trying to make the transition from I guess what you would call hobby farming to homesteading\farming. Hello Chuck! Thanks for the video(s)! We have considered expanding our farm to include pastured poultry but prices keep us hesitant. Most folks in our area are not willing to pay the prices for pastured poultry raised the "right way" versus a $5-7 whole chicken from Wal***t. Last thing we need is a freezer full of chicken and our investment tied up in a product that we cant sell for a profit. How do you manage to get the product selling for the premium prices? Thanks!
