Great Food!

Mickey’s Diner was designed to resemble the railroad dining cars of the period. It is unique in that it is one of the first diners to be built in the Art Deco style. Mickey’s Dining Car was manufactured in New Jersey and shipped by rail on a flat bed to its present location.

Mickey's Diner has been featured on the Food Network series Unwrapped, Roker on the Road, Rachel Rays' Tasty Travels, and Alton Browns' Feasting on Asphalt. Mickey's has appeared in The Smithsonian, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, Easy Rider, Playboy and Elle magazines. Mickey's Dining Car has been replicated as a collectible by Department 56, The Danbury Mint and Saks Fifth Avenue. The Mighty Ducks I, II, III, Jingle All the Way and A Prairie Home Companion movies contain scenes that were shot on location at Mickey's.

Mickey’s Diner was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and was one of the first diners to be a registered historic place. The designation helped preserve the diner during urban re-development with in the city of St. Paul.

Mickey’s Dining car has been operating 24 hours a day 365 days a year for nearly 70 years. Spanning three generations the diner has remained family owned and operated.

I spent 3 weeks in St Paul in 1975 and 95% of my meals were in this glorious diner. Your video brought back some great memories! Thanks!

Been there several times. Best experience, sitting at the bar with my friend; chef is busting his ass cooking a million things, my friend asks him "what do you recommend?" Chef doesn't even look up, just says "the soup."

I love places like this. A place where everyone comes together and breaks bread. I don't think I've ever been in a street car style diner and I hope to get to soon.

Years ago when I was in HS I had a summer job getting locked in overnight at the Old Woolworths store close by. My job was to strip and wax the floors of the store. When the store manager would come in at 6am and let me out I would go over to Mickeys for breakfast. Many, many great memories and a pretty awesome breakfast experience... This clip brought out many smiles! Thanks...

I grew up on Rice St. in St. Paul and played hockey at Washington High School graduating in 1969. We played many games at the old St. Paul Auditorium and I remember that after most games I would swing by Mickey's Diner for some great burgers and good music!! At that time, I was too young to appreciate the historical significance of this beautiful diner, but I do now! My mother and father went to Mechanic Arts High School and even they hung around at Mickey's when they were in high school too. After high school, I went to St. Thomas College and worked at Donaldson's Department Store in downtown St. Paul and continued visiting the diner until I joined the Air Force in 1973. I live in Temecula, Ca. now and I am so glad to see that this wonderful piece of history is still thriving. Thank you for the wonderful video and the great memories!! bob

Thank you for being quiet and respectful in the diner. So many people that do videos are loud and obnoxious. I would love to go eat there but I live in Southern California don't think I'm gonna make it. Thanks for the great video Dennis
