Nice as always! This is why we need independent reviewers. To say the truth : "dont buy now". "Dont buy the most expensive thing." "If you already happy, dont buy at all. Just keep playing"

One thing i can add is even lower tier CPUs are so good these days. You can totally enjoy most(or even every game) with something like i3 12100F. It just blows my mind how fast this thing is.

I really advice undervolting the 13600K, especially if you are using air-cooling: I got a 20 Celsius reduction in temperatures and the performance increased by about 700 points in Cinebench (to 23407 points). And of course the power consumption dropped by a lot (can't remember the exact number)!

Unless you're a top 1% gamer that's competing in competitions for money the i5 is the goat. I don't see why you'd need more than this for gaming at any resolution. Based on 12600k and 13600K the i5 is really coming in strong these last two releases.

I am not an extreme gamer or anything. I just want to plug and play things for the most part but I still listen to your advices when buying hardware. You are my go to youtuber for all things PC. On this channel there is 0 crap only truth.

FYI for tarkov you can set force v-sync off in nvidia control panel and turning on in game will just unlock frames, but you don't actually need a monitor with higher refresh rates

Great test man. This is dope. I can't wait to see that 13700k results with DDR4. That's what I have my eye on.

Have a 13700k on the way as an upgrade to my 9900k. Glad to see it will get rid of cpu bottlenecks at 4k on my 4090, and I can keep using my DDR4 B die. Thanks for the review!

It's actually amazing what the 13600k can do.

Thanks for adding tarkov but 5800x3d would have been nice to seen on the benchmarks

13th gen looks to scale more heavily with DDR5 this time around. Would be interesting to see some documented comparisons.

Are you going to add the game rust into your benchmarks at some point? I remember you mentioned something about it being a good Benchmark game and I have been wanting to see some Rust comparisons on the new Gen graphics and CPU to see if it's just as crap as it was on the previous gen

In regards to Horizon Zero Dawn favoring AMD CPUs (in my opinion):
- it was first developed for the Playstation 4/4 Pro and then ported to Playstation 5 (which all have AMD-based CPU/GPU hardware). So that is probably why it seems more optimized for AMD hardware.
- Wiki mentions the game uses the "Decima engine" (which seems it was used in other PS4 games as well like Killzone, Until Dawn and Death Stranding).

Seeing where the i5 & i7 are going with core count and performance, a i5 might be all you need for gaming in the future. I'll be upgrading my 10900K to a 14700K next year.

Would using a B660M Mortar max wifi with the blck clock generator increase performance with the intel cpu's over the z690?

Insane budget performance. How the turn tables with Intel providing the value proposition and extra cores (albeit with e cores). Thanks, Jufes!
