I think, because previously in their careers or leading up to professional contracts, they always heard that they're not big enough. That mentally fired them up even more, to prove critics wrong. I also believe that, because of all the words in the past, this made these two perfect examples of "100% 'ers." I don't believe that there are, currently, any players in international rugby, apart from PS du Toit, that can boast that they are 100% switched on, for 80 minutes... It's also an eye opener to SA selectors to NOT always go for size when selecting players...
