As part of an audio mastering process, FBQ3102HD can be powerful and effective if you understand exactly what it can do and how to use it. In this presentation, I show how I apply the unit in my signal processing mastering chain, and explain the 31 frequency band groups in detail. Watch all of this presentation now to find out how the FBQ3102HD functions in this scenario, and what it can do for you. #Behringer #GraphicEqualizer #StudioEffects #BehringerEqualizer #musicproducer

In theory, graphic equalizers are simple tools. However, it always amazes me how many folks make changes to frequency bands without understanding them or the impact of those changes. I wanted to share this information with anyone interested in understanding this unit in order to better master their music. I hope this information serves useful.

The "feedback" part of the video may confuse many beginners. That feature essentially is designed for when using the unit in a live situation for when you get actual feedback coming from a microphone. It visually indicates which frequency is the culprit therefore letting you know which frequency to turn down.

What you demonstrate in your video is not actually feedback. It's just frequencies that cross above a certain db threshold of the input of which the unit is designed to and therefore it lights up those frequencies to show you any frequencies that may be jumping out to much in the mix which may be undesirable for the overall blendnof the music. This is particularly effective in the midrange to balance any vocal frequencies which resonate over wide ranges of the spectrum due to the nature of the human voice.

This has been a very organized presentation. This is applicable also when EQ:ING for all applications such as Live performance, Streaming and Recording app. This has helped me. Thank you for putting this video together.

I love this EQ. They're budget friendly and do the job. What's to complain about?

A lucid explanation of a "black box" component. I'm not into mastering recordings but use my EQ as more of an elaborate tone control in my home system. Your Behringer is boss. My first component EQ purchase in 1978 was an ADC Sound Shaper Two (with the VU meter) trading up to the IC model in 1982. Another point of the graphic type is the effect each control (slider) has on adjacent frequencies. For two or three specific frequency corrections I believe a Parametric is superior. I prefer my twelve band/channel graphic type. But thirty one sliders per channel? That's hifi heaven. Could really dig playin' with that.

Greetings and firstly a huge thank you for that insightful exposition of graphic equalization fundamentals in general, and Behringer EQ in particular. I am a new Behringer buyer - bought the Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ6200HD less than a week ago. It is so refreshing to discover device-specific information. I believe I have understood most of your presentation with exceptions, and they are as follows:

How do you correlate the sound you hear from, say, a piece of music - and the precise individual frequency bands? I understand the wide highway/audio spectrum analogy and as you clearly explained about the range between say, sub-bass, bass, mid-range, treble - including the actual values of the types of frequencies - I was intrigued to find out if there was a technique that married my ears to the frequencies. Apologies if I haven't explained myself clearly enough.

My second question is the use of the pink noise (signal generator) function on the FBQ6200FD.
One of the reasons I chose this model was to improve the signal quality and overall ability of my stereo system to provide a clue as to improving room acoustics. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My last question: I'm currently using an unbalanced set-up - my stereo receiver has REC OUT and LINE-LEVEL RCA - I've connected these to Channel 1 (Input/Output) and Channel 2 (Input/Output) on the Behringer, which means my TS/RCA cables are carrying an unbalanced mono signal. That said, the system sounds fantastic (I have adjusted the graphic EQ intuitively, even prior to discovering your presentation) and the stereo seperation is great, certainly not mono! Is there an explanation?

Thank you very much for your time. You have already won another subscriber.

Great video- I have a question though regarding the sub-out. Does the crossover works as both a low pass for the sub and and high pass for the tops, or is it just a low pass point for the subs and not affect the tops. Can you confirm that this crossover affects the tops also? Thanks and appreciate the video!

I was wondering how you are connecting this unit to your Tascam DP-24?

how do you control the subwoofer volume? Do the left and right channel volume knobs control the subwoofer volume?

Great presentation! I hope you can give me some instructions on connecting my FBQ6200HD Equalizer. I have a Marantz pm6008 preamp that I'm not getting equlized sound. Your advice would be welcomed. DM

Can you tell us what the cut off slope is for the selectable low and high cut(on left side of unit) ...ie is it 12dB per octave cut? 👉🇬🇧👈

Question please. My subwoofer already has a cut frequency on the back button settings. Should I just run the wires from the eq to my sub and then from my subs to my tops
