Honestly just a poorly executed exhaust. Nothing about it is smooth or pleasant, completely defeating the purpose of a well sealed cabin in a high-end SUV. I'd imagine the internal vibrations would get annoying really fast without a single silencer. Sounds like someone took an old American V8 and chopped the pipes at the headers.
