On October 10th, I lost the love of my life. He died in a motorcycle accident. This was our song. We met when we were 6 at a wedding. His aunts and my uncles. I was the flower girl and he was the ring bearer. We met again in July. I was visiting my country. My uncle passed and he left his college to help with the funeral. We had to grab their wedding pictures and that’s when we saw that we were side by side in every picture, we thought it was cute. For the two weeks I had left, we spent every day to the fullest. I was mourning but he made sure to put a smile on my face. On this one rainy day, he took me out to the beach and we went for a swim, it felt like a movie. On my last night, we stayed up and you made me hot chocolate. I told you how much I loved the sunrise and next thing you know, you’re holding my hand and dragging me in the mud to the beach. I just remember us saying “ow” over and over again because the hot chocolate was burning our hands until we finally just threw it all out. We sat on that tree stump and you held me. That was when I realized I had fallen inlove with you. We watched the sunrise and you promised me that it wouldn’t be our last, but it was. The last time I held you was when you were taking me to the terminal. I was in the back of the motorcycle and I remember this pain in my chest, I didn’t want to fucking go. When we hugged goodbye, we both promised we’d see each other again but sometimes promises can break. I wish it didn’t.
Christian I’m angry you left me but I’m happy I had the chance to meet you. You stole my heart and I’m glad you did. I’ll miss hearing you tell me you love me.
