The problem is that either way you are mitigating his healing while also mitigating your own damage. It does mean that items such as deaths dance and sunfire are more effective though

Slap on death's dance and suddenly all of his healing is now gone.

But if u get two cloth Armor then he gets two long swords bruh, i don't think just buying Armor will do much to healing
