I'm a French guy so I assure you the correct way to pronounce 'Cotillard' is Co-Tee-Yar ... WITHOUT THE D !!!

I explain, it's a basic French rule called 'Deaf Letter' in which you never supposed to actually pronounce the D or T at the end of any written French words and French names (I know, it's quite crazy and annoying in the eyes of foreign speakers to be forbidden to pronounce letters in an phonetical alphabet^^)

Nice how the video ends with Charlize Theron lying about the pronunciation of her own name.

So.... I'll be the stickler for today... the "right way" according to what? Because in some names you take their origin into consideration and in others you don't...For example, Martin Scorsese himself pronounces his surname 'Scorsehsee', like '-essy', but in Italian this surname is pronounced 'Scorsehseh', without a prolonged 'ee' in the end. On the other hand, Tèa Leoni's name has an accented 'e' and it is an Italian name once again, so 'Tèa', like 'Teha'...not a 'Tay' like hey...Even if Matt Groening says his own name 'Grayning', the correct pronunciation is 'Hruning' because it has German - Dutch origins. 'Sevigny' you pronounce correctly, as it is a French name, but 'Chloe' isn't supposed to have a prolonged 'ee' in the end, rather 'eh' in the end. I mean, you accurately mention the 'correct Sicilian way' for Buscemi but then for some other names what you mean to say is that this is the American way. As for Theron, the correct pronunciation is the first one she answers to, as it is an Afrikaans name, therefore with Dutch origin. Second time, maybe she just got tired of correcting people, I don't know... You could've just named this vid 'the American way to pronounce these celebrities' and that would be totally respected and all would be great!! There's nothing wrong with pronouncing your name in different ways, we're all different, I have the same issue with my name having lived in two different countries. But to call something 'the right way' should've at least been researched, no?

If you would really try to pronounce them right you would say it in the language these names come from. If you just use an english version thats closer to the original, it doesnt make it right. Especially the Italian Names

I've never heard anyone pronounce Shia Lebeouf "shy lah-buff". They either pronounce it: Shy-ah Lah-buff or Shy-ah Lah-boo-f

If Charlize Theron's name is pronounced closer to "throne" in Afrikaans, why does she go by "Thair-in" in English? Every person who speaks English can pronounce the words "thrown" or "throne", and that's more like what her name sounds like.... No need to say "Thair-in."

Why would Brits insist on mispronouncing Scarlett Johansson's name when Scarlett herself doesn't pronounce it that way? Maybe that's why the has never appeared on British television.

' Shar-leeze Throne ' isn't the wrong pronunciation. She said in a different interview that she goes by ' Shar-leeze Thair-in ' but she is actually pronounced ' Shar-leeze Throne ' because ' Throne ' is hard to say for a lot of people.
