Joomla 5: Should we be afraid? - 🛠 MM #240

Just the mention of Joomla 5 has been scaring people and making them wonder if it will break Joomla 4 when it is released some day.

WordPress requires SO many plugins. Joomla could win more support by being more comprehensive and sit between WordPress and WIX in terms of positioning. I need a page builder, firewall, forms, tables, doc management, etc so I can do more without plugins. And fewer plugins from developers who (in the case of Joomla) have slowly drifted off.

Joomla 5 would be worth the upgrade if it doesn't break anything. I hope they could create a more durable coding framework for Joomla, and make any future releases compatible with past releases or without making big changes to the Joomla core, if possible.

Thanks for the great video and for everything you share about Joomla. If we're going to supposedly see Joomla 5 in October next year and Joomla 3 is marked as becoming unsupported in August, why are we even bothering with 4?? I seem to remember J2.5 was supported, at least for security fixes, a lot longer than they originally said so what's the point of going to a lot of effort to upgrade to something that's going to be out of date (and potentially contain depricated code) six months later - it may be difficult to convince clients that it's all necessary!

Joomla 5 will be accessible by webhook in SEO tools so no need to login to joomla anymore will needed. hope I will be run in more status code than 200

I presume deprecated code refers to backwards compatibility for things.
