An Interesting Zelda Switch Leak Hits The Internet And Bad News For A Big Game Remake? | News Wave

Speculation has continued to mount after Breath of the Wild 2 was delayed into 2023 with the latest giving fans an idea as to what a big direction of the game could be. Ubisoft has been working to remake a game from one of their long running series with the newest update showing it's still going to be a while before it's ready.

Reggie was absolutely spot on when it comes to Wii sports being bundled with the Wii device

Reggie was spot on and he should’ve did the same to have 1-2 switch bundled with the switch. Let’s be honest it’s a tech demo like Astro and should’ve been free. Some people still don’t know all the functionality of the joy cons and that would’ve helped. Who doesn’t love the feel of pouting ice cubes in a glass lol

Reggie in his audiobook talked about his efforts of localizing Mother 3. It appears conversations with Iwata happened, so there was a chance of releasing the game, but it wasn't priority. This lead to the localization of Mother 1, so Earthbound beginnings was released on Wii U, which makes sense if you want to introduce people to the franchise. Most likely the sales weren't good, Iwata passed away, Nintendo had a massive shift to focus on launching the Switch and, as part of that, legacy content was not a priority (the NSO is born). Since 2017, there isn't a platform for Nintendo releasing Mother 3, unless GBA games become part of NSO. The other option is a remake, but if localization is already difficult and costly (compared to potential sales), a remake is even more.

So I don't think the "Nintendo is avoiding controversy" point of view is the whole story.

Xbox Design Lab is great but it’s limited availability in certain countries means that a lot of people don’t have access to it and so it’s good that they keep coming out with new official colors.

I do think that whenever the Zelda remasters are announced, it would be a short marketing cycle. Super Mario 3D all-stars was announced only 3 weeks before it’s release. (You can bet that the WW/TP double pack will be gone on March 31, 2023 also)

Re: Prince of Persia, I always find it humorous how companies try to sell us that a "certain studio" is picking up a project, as if that's supposed to give us some kind of reassurance that it'll now be good. Similar to how Nintendo did with Metroid Prime 4 when Retro took it back. That's great and all, but.. employees change, talent changes, management changes, so many things change between when Retro put out the amazing Metroid Prime 1, and now. Same with Sands of Time, who cares that Ubisoft Montreal is the original studio that put them out? That could be an entirely different studio with none of the original devs working there, so why should we care? I just think it's funny that it's even a talking point at all in these types of announcements.

I'd love remasters of the Legacy of Kain games, and then a new reboot/sequel.

The time travel aspect of the story is a perfect excuse to do an in-canon reboot. You could have Raziel/Kain/whoever go back in time to reset the timeline. That would tie it into the previous games, but it would also be a fresh start and you wouldn't have to remember the convoluted story of the earlier games.

The VR digital face thing just seems like a way for Metta to literally steal your own face and likeness. As far as I know it's basically Facebook policy that they own any photos of you uploaded to their platform. Why would this be any different? I really don't want my real face in VR anyway. I'm sure some people would like it, but I want a clear line between VR and reality. You can have tasteful avatars that aren't photo real people.

It makes sense to have WW/TP HD ready to go now. I expect it could be announced during whatever E3-type of Direct they will hold. Skyward Sword HD has sold almost 4 million, so I would think a collection could pull similar numbers for them.

I’ve been itching to replay the games, but simply do not feel like sitting down to play them on GameCube again and completely passed on the Wii U like everyone else. Playing them on handheld with the Switch would be great.

What if, humor me on this one, Nintendo pushed back BOTW 2 because it’s gonna incorporate parts of all Zelda games? Like we have an idea/hypothesis that Skyward sword has something to do with the new game but what if every game (that they’re making remasters for) had something to do with it? Could you imagine how crazy the story would be?

The "Prince of Persia remake" first trailer looked more like "Prince of *India"* than "Prince of Persia". I'm happy they changed development teams and hopefully the new team will make this remake *more faithful to the original game* than anything else.

I think the "character" we are going to meet/hear voices is one of the actors playing the spirit of that old hero who Link found the tunic for (and I feel like is sealed within the arm) or it's Ganondorf who I've wanted to have a voice since BOTW was confirmed to have voice acting.

Everyone wanting Twilight Princess and Wind Waker meanwhile I want more of the handheld zeldas. Links awakening was awesome on switch and I'd love The Minish Cap done in same way or a port of A Link between Worlds

One of the great things about the Series X controllers, they are so easy to customize yourself. I bought a translucent green and translucent purple, along with some white and purple grips. Came with the tools to pop the stock pieces off. Turned out amazing.
