BA History of Art – a week in Paris | Oxford Brookes University

This video shows Oxford Brookes’ Art History students on an annual study trip to Paris. When you take an undergraduate course in History of Art at Oxford Brookes University, you get to study works of art first-hand. In year two, the course includes the module Field Work in Art History: a week-long field trip to Paris. There are also frequent guided visits to galleries and museums in Oxford and London throughout your studies.

The Paris field trip is guided by your tutors and assessed. You will spend a focused, intensive and enjoyable week studying famous works of art and architecture in the French capital. Visits vary from year to year, but generally include: The Sainte-Chapelle; Renaissance paintings in the Louvre; The Musée du Quai Branly; The Pompidou Centre (Musée National d’Art Moderne); The Panthéon; The Musée Rodin; The Musée d’Orsay; and Monet’s Waterlilies in the Orangerie.

You may also visit the Eiffel Tower and Pere Lachaise Cemetery and explore Le Corbusier’s architectural works at Villa La Roche.
