Hey everyone! Welcome to Lax Weekly. Today we’re going over the top 5 best lacrosse dodges for offensive players. In my opinion, these 5 dodges are critical if you’re trying to improve your game and become great. There are dozens of different dodges in lacrosse, but these are the ones you should learn first.

1. Split Dodge

2. Roll Dodge

3. Face Dodge

5. Question-Mark Dodge

counters for defensive players:

Split dodge: a well timed poke check to knock the ball out works really well, watching their hips is how you dont end up on the highlight reel, because a good attackman will throw a headfake.

Roll dodge: when a bad attackman rolls he might leave his stick hanging behind him for an easy take away check, also if youre strong enough to push them back so the roll isnt as effective that works too, the last thing is positioning, if youre in good position and take a good approach the roll can be rendered completely ineffective.

face dodge: a can opener check can be effective once the stick is across their face, but mostly you just want to take a good approach angle and not lunge at the attackman.

re dodge: they have to use a dodge in the re dodge, so knowing how to stop the dodge used in the redodge is how you counter it.

Question mark: Stopping them before they get to 5 and 5, or the island. Ideally you want to turn them at GLE, but if they do get to 5 and 5, someone who has less expierience with this dodge will telegraph it, and sometimes leave their hands exposed for an easy lift check, also, pushing them hard enough once they initiate the dodge can throw them off.

Great video! Haven’t watched a lacrosse video in a while... played in college and loved the 3 step spilt.

Was hoping you'd go more into the variants of the dodges, especially face dodge, which I'd argue that the first example highlight you used was more of a toe drag rather than a face. But I'd still call a toe drag a variant of a face dodge; personally I find as a goalie on the clear, a pull back for a fake pass up-field into a toe drag is extremely effective. But still a great video, subbed, excited to see more
