Leo Sayer ~ How Much Love 1976 Disco Purrfection Version
Показать описание
"How Much Love" was the third single issued from Leo Sayers hugely successful "Endless Flight" album. With the first two singles both hit #1 it was reasonable to believe that "How Much Love" would follow. Written by Sayer and co writer legend Barry Mann the song eventually topped out at #17 in the middle of the summer of 1977.
Barry Mann who co wrote many major pop classics with Cynthia Weil, most notably "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling", came on board to write with Leo. Cynthia joined the two for the album track "Hold On To My Love".
This album was the soundtrack I heard throughout that winter thaw to warmer days. The first single "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" with its pure disco joy brightening my days and nights of frost into spring when I graduated up and off school! Followed by the semi operatic "When I Need You" soared with me through that spring into summer.
When it started dropping down the chart "How Much Love" was issued and it peaked #17 right in the heat of that hot summer. I still feel the connection between the warm sunny weather I hear this one. Other songs in the Top 10 Barry Manilow with "Looks Like We Made It", followed by Andy Gibb "I Just Want To Be Your Everything" and the Stevie Nicks written and sung "Dreams" done with Fleetwood Mac. Oh and Brothers Johnson "Strawberry Letter #22" was moving up the charts...my remix of that wonderful composition is coming up.
The week "How Much Love" peaked at #17, the #1 song was the insanely catchy Emotions "Best Of My Love" so you know the richness of the FM experience was crystal clear sound with a decent bass response.
It was very warm summer and it seemed to rain at night and stop most times around sunrise. Of course a few days stayed grey and I remember +waking up to this dense fog that literally blanketed the neighborhood one Saturday morning and I mean it was limited visibility, 4 ft at most. So all my brothers and my sister got dressed to go out and play in the fog. I felt like I was in a Sherlock Holmes movie. Never have I ever seen such fog until I hit San Francisco the first time, theirs is pretty legendary.
