GOLDEN HOUR harp music by Anne Crosby Gaudet

"Golden Hour" is a mid-intermediate lever harp solo that was composed by Anne Crosby Gaudet to celebrate the summer solstice. Written in G Mixolydian, this piece creates a carefree mood and the gentle 6/8 lilt feels like a lazy day at the lake.

You will need a larger harp with levers for this piece (lowest pitch is E2) and there is one B lever change. Fingering and bracket suggestions are included in the score along with handy rehearsal marks to organize your practice.

For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere Monday, June 21 is the Summer Solstice ☀️ This piece is in G Mixolydian to capture the carefree mood of summer, but uses a relaxed 6/8 meter for the feeling of lazy days at the lake. By the way the video footage at the beginning and end is from a few days ago at our neighborhood lake. Don't you love the sound of the children laughing as they enjoy the warm, summer evening. What's your favorite thing about summer?

Summer is my favorite season, all the birds singing, flowers blooming, warm temperatures, ice tea, so much sunlight every day, I love summer, this song is so pretty, I love the rhythms I'm hearing, I can see playing this on my deck in the evening.
