For me. slipjoints don't really suit my everyday 'needs' in a knife. I honestly fidget with my knives more than cut with them... work calls, tv, etc... I have one sliptjoint in my entire collection, the WE Scamp, and it alone scratches the itch. At the risk of being dramatic, they do give me a very nostalgic feeling and a sensation of "Wow, grandpa used to carry something like this...", which is cool, but outside of that novelty they don't do much for me. Perhaps my taste isn't refined enough to appreciate the difference in walk-and-talk between different slipjoints, but for me, I get more of a kick out of feeling the different actions on locking folding knives.
