William Ackerman Collection 1

A collection of acoustic pieces by guitarist/producer William Ackerman, spanning his catalogue. This loose retrospective (first few albums are not referenced) is set to guitar-themed visuals. Ever since first hearing Will's music at a restaurant in Montreal (wouldn't pay the bill until the hostess came up with the likely CD for the beautiful ambient music my date and I had listened to during our meal), I have been a big fan, bringing his music along on roadtrips across Canada and the US, and in quiet listening at home or at work. I hope you enjoy this peaceful set.

I consider Montreal to be one of the great eating towns in the world. This in a world where we travel in Italy and France extensively. We just spent a week at the Birk's Hotel in Montreal, going to all our fave restaurants. The other thing about this trip is the timing of it. What you want is to have the late fall colors showing the trees in the dark purples and rust colors in Canada... then going through the brightest amazing colors about Montpelier and arriving into Windham County where the fall is just MAGICAL !!! I'd kill to know what restaurant you were in when you heard my music.

I first heard William Ackerman when I was working in San Francisco and dating a woman from Menlo Park; that was in 1981, his new album "Passage." Yesterday, I was in a used vinyl shop in Santa Fe and discovered a copy of that LP in very good condition and immediately bought it. Brought back many fond memories from my past ... ah, the "passage" of time! The collection here is very nice and I will definitely be on the lookout for more of Will's albums.

And, rather I say my very first album I listened to, 1985. I did hear a small portion of a track from Childhood And Memory around 1983, but not enough to appreciate your music like I enjoy it today!
