Don’t apologize to the haters, they’re just mad they can’t get good at flat rate. You keep doing you.

The haters are the ones who spend half of their day on their phone instead of working.

Now film that job and it becomes a 4 hour job. 😂🤪😂

Come on. Don't waste videos on harbor freight hand tool working in the driveway with 1 ton jack with no jack stands viewers. Weekend mechanic warriors take a whole weekend on what we do 5 times a day. Real Techs know it can be done.

And that's why you are The Flat Rate Master!

That IS the graviest timing job! I think you spend more time taking that crank bolt off than anything else 😆 i did a timelapse video on that job, it really is that easy!

Haters are going to hate and trolls are going to troll

Screw the “haters”. They’re just mad that they can’t knock it out that quickly. That’s like me with a 2.4 timing chain/balance shaft chain job, give me an hour to 1.5 hours and I’ll have it knocked out...pays 7hrs C/P. When you do a job day in and day out you get quick; or as you said, “an expert”.

I replace cam seals that were perfectly fine because I was there. had them leek after. For me if it’s not broke don’t fix it. I don’t know if this is right or wrong but it seems to work out well.

Seems like the people that question techniques and procedures and how long they take are the people that don’t do any of it!!

"Am I an expert at it? Actually, yes." Hell yeah!!

I just did an 08 Odyssey water pump yesterday in under 2 hours. It’s not difficult if you know what you are doing. Gravy.

People don’t seem to understand in less they are flat rate. All you can hope is at the end of the week your hours reflect the time spent. I see guys flag the same as the hours worked or below and I’m in amazement because flat rate is what you make it. Your not Efficient or like taking your time then bitch when you get your paycheck cracks me up. Your going to win some and going to lose some. I love how I get paid 1.5 hours to diag any car issue. Like every issue is the same. I’ve spent days on a communication issue and 2 minutes on a loose gas cap. All you can hope is you win more then you lose. Great response video Mike

MORE jobs should be FLAT RATE - the Productivity and QUALITY would go up as people would have ownership.

Thanks for clarifying, I appreciate the fact that i know you didn’t do the seals and why. I finished an 2008 V6 Accord T-belt, W/P, Cam /Crank seals, Valve adjustment, plugs, and valve cover gasket set yesterday. And let’s just say it took more than 1.5 hrs. Actually i probably had 5.5 in the whole job but in my position off and on jobs so much it feels a lot longer.

Have done plenty of Honda/Acura V6 timing belts in an one and a half to two hours. Just grind!

As a Honda tech, Ridgelines, Pilots and Odyssey timing belts are easy to complete in an hour. Replacing water pump and timing equipment. Oil leaks on v6 cam seals are highly uncommon. Especially at their first and second t belt intervals.

I have no doubt you did those jobs in that time. Don’t listen to the hater we all have those jobs that have a lot of time to do them but we know how to get them done in much less time. You have worked hard your whole career to learn to do them that quickly. For example 6.0 power stroke alternator takes 2.1 hours I know how to do it in 10 mins, glow plugs also 3 hours to do both sides takes me 45 mins, water pump 3.5 hours takes me an hour. We’ve work hard to learn these job, tricks and tool select to just smash these jobs out. No need to explain yourself keep up the hard work and the great videos!
