Denafrips ARES I vs ARES II

UPDATE: Just brought this ARES 2 to my mate Stav A (DACMAN Audio, distributor at Australia) and it sounds amazing. The problem is definitely in the way I am sending the music to ARES. Definitely good buy.
Comparing ARES I and ARES II
ARES I playing first with Foobar set as DSD mode
ARES II playing second at JRiver DSD mode as well.
For whatever reason, I can play ARES II at Foobar but the ASIO is not getting into DSD mode. If I stick with DSD mode at Foobar, some of the lower frequency is a bit distorted especially the Hotel California by Eagles from their Hotel California album. If I changed the settings of the SACD to PCM mode, it sounds ok though. The problem is in Foobar, I find DSD mode to be more forward and clear so I really want it to be set as DSD rather than PCM.
I also found that if I play DSD256 file in JRiber using ARES II, it is really choppy until I set it to DoP or none. I am playing Vanessa Fernandez Album I want you, DSD 256 approx 400MB file sizes. Doing this in ARES I is not an issue for me.
Still, need to play around I guess.
