Stand up with good posture. Squeeze your butt as if you were holding a 50p between your cheeks. Hold, and relax. You will see slight rotation outwards of your thighs. Make sure your leg muscles are switched off so the movement is isolated in the glutes or butt. When you first start the exercise, you might wish to place your fingers on your butt muscles to know if you are squeezing them.

I like to squeeze a pencil between my gluts and walk around the house and see how long I can hold it in place. Feel like the gluts get a really good work out if I can hold the pencil for about 10 minutes walking around the house.

Is it possible to only squeeze one cheek rather than both ? I had hip replacement and can't feel much happening on the operated side
