In this video, we address a common inquiry regarding the TN Visa application process for professionals, particularly focusing on what documents are required. We’ll break down the essential paperwork needed and provide clarity on the steps for both Canadian and Mexican citizens.

To apply for a TN Visa, you will need several crucial documents. These include proof of citizenship, typically your passport, and a detailed support letter from your U.S. employer. This letter must outline the professional role you’ll be filling, as well as your qualifications and credentials relevant to the job. If your qualifications rely on specific certifications or degrees, ensure these are included as well.

The TN Visa is available to both Canadian and Mexican citizens, but the application process varies slightly between the two. Canadian applicants can present their documentation directly to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the border or, if already in the U.S., file an I-129 form with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). For Mexican citizens not currently in TN status or legally in the U.S., the process involves completing a DS-160 form. This form is necessary for scheduling a consulate appointment, providing details about your personal and professional background.

It’s crucial to be honest and thorough when filling out the DS-160 form. Once your documents are ready, Canadians can present their paperwork at the border, while Mexicans will need to schedule and attend a consulate appointment in Mexico City, Juarez, or Guadalajara.

Very informative video!!! I’m in a similar situation. I am a truck driver, car hauler specifically, and I have an offer to work in Texas. Obviously they want me down there as soon as possible which also doesn’t create much urgency for the sponsoring party. How can I expedite this process as even temporary status while i find a more permanent solution?
