In part 2 of our road trip up California’s Pacific Coast Highway, we explore Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo, California! Pismo Beach is perhaps most known for the Oceano Dunes recreation area where you can actually drive on the beach!

We took full advantage of cruising up and down the beachfront while also trying out the sweet treats at Old West Cinnamon Roll (one of the best places to eat in Pismo Beach). You have to stop by for one of the gigantic Pismo Beach classics!

After breakfast we popped over to Shell Beach to explore Dinosaur Cave Park and do some tide pooling near the dinosaur caves. Did you know there used to be a brontosaurus here?! (okay, not a real one) We highly recommend kayaking near the dinosaur caves in Pismo Beach to really experience them fully.

After driving on the beach, eating the best bites and enjoying some fun in the sun we wrapped up a great day on the PCH in San Luis Obispo, California. SLO, as it’s sometimes called, is a total charmer and a must-visit for any Pacific Coast Highway road trip.

Dinner at Luna Red, ice cream at McConnell’s and a stroll around one of the most charming towns in California - you will love San Luis Obispo!

We hope you enjoyed our PCH Road Trip travel vlog series. As always, we’ll see you in our next video as we KEEP GOING PLACES!

So happy you included video of the frisbee throwing. I liked you guys before but the fact you had a frisbee in your car makes me like you even more. As always, thanks for filming, editing, and sharing your travels:) Stay safe and see you next video:)

those rolls were ginormous. they looked so good. Sure would love to get your road trip planner for the PCH. It's on my wife's must do list (so I guess it's also on mine).

I grew up going to Pismo (actually, my parents grew up in the 30's & 40's going to Pismo) and my sisters & I still love it. But I've always wondered why so many tourists go there, because what I love is just sitting up on the bluff and watching the ocean and listening to the waves. (We stay next door to the Tides Hotel, at the Sea Crest.) It's not like the town or the pier are anything special. I guess its claim to fame is it is the only place in southern or central California where you can drive on the beach. I agree that San Luis Obispo (SLO) is charming.

Good video, did you have to lowered the tires when you entered the dunes?

Glad to hear they are stopping driving on the Beach. It’s being ruined by all those vehicles.
