"Social Cohesion starts at school" is the project run by Judo for Peace South Africa with the funding of UNHCR and in collaboration with JSA, Outreach Foundation, Future Families.

Beneficiaries: 10 Schools in Johannesburg – 300 School kids participating to Social Cohesion activities through judo

Objective: to promote Social Cohesion among youngsters by exposing them to the judo moral code and workshops on human rights

Activities (10 Sessions – 5 in November 2019 and 5 in December 2019):

• Short workshop on introduction to human rights to teenagers

• Judo trainings and judo games to learn to work together and get familiar with the judo values – respect, friendship, self control

• Learning refugees’ stories through food experience. Facilitator from Outreach to help refugees to tell their stories and sensitise the participants to other cultures through food and storytelling
